I swear the window displays at Macy's this year are BY FAR the scariest, ugliest things I have ever seen!
Sorry about the late update today. To say that this subway strike has frazzled me would be an understatement. I'm stranded deep in brooklyn and have promised my boss I'll find a way into work tomorrow, which will either involve a) me walking the four hours to get there and the four hours to get home or b) me riding my bike through some of the most dangerous streets only to have the streets being EVEN MORE dangerous than usual since people aren't exactly in good moods.
Poop, says I!
At least I've got my eggbert ornament to keep me company and a hell of a lot of decorating to do. Have you guys seen the new Fluff Photoblog? You get a better glimse at my super ghetto art tree there! Take a peek:

Perhaps you may also recognize the "green" of the tree from comics such as
The BIG Book of Fluff
and it looks WEIRDLY familiar to the dress the
Magical Repro Boggle Fairy
wore. Strange.

It's a 'Turkey on Mr. Bean's Head' phone and to answer the phone you lift the turkey off Mr. Bean's head and put it over your own.

Hey if you ride your bike, I'll ride with you. Seriously. I figure that it would be best to ride across the brooklyn bridge, then up the west side of manhattan along the water, so we can use the bike path and not deal with cars. the only scary part to me is the stretch of unknown between atlantic avenue and the bridge. Eek

There's a nice little sit-upon in Hell with your name on it.

I just heard about this subway strike. It sounds like the union's demands are outlandish and they are putting millions of people, if not businesses, at risk by not having public transport running.
But a great comic, nontheless. You have to wonder who makes these lame-O displays in holiday windows when there are many artists who could do better...

The public transportation system in Seattle is so bad, most people would not notice if they went on strike.

More fun than shooting fish in a barrel with monkeys.

Oh man, my 20-foot commute from my bed to my studio nearly killed me today.

Hahaha! Okay I needed that laugh today!
So Annie and I DID bike into manhattan. It took us two and a half hours and now I'm pretty sure I have a butt strong enough to shell a cashew. It was actually somewhat fun finding the bike lanes all over brooklyn and going along the west side water (passing some of my favorite things like the trapeze school).
Unfortunately for me, my sore tush, AND my toes (since my shoes that have big holes in them) we've got to bike back.
I convinced my boss that it's probably best if I "work from home" the rest of the week...

I like the comic. The severed legs and hands in the Macy's display kind of creep me out. Why
are
they like that?
