Hey everyone. It's lame gift time! First things first. If you think I'm late, I'm sorry, but I tried my best. If you really want it to be a christmas gift, change your system clock. (Or apply 'daylight saving time' in extra premium mode. After all a day can't be all that late).

That aside, I have been working my ass off for the past 3-4 days non stop on creating the (drum roll please)

FLUFF WHO COMPUTER GAME!!!
(silence as the audience is spellbounded in joy and amazement)
I've sent it to colleen, and hopefully, she won't chuck it out of the window and will post it.

Some notes first, because as always no one reads the docs (which you should read)
-> When you start the program, you may get an error that says,
<blah blah> could not be found in resources. Check .rc file
well, ignore it. Just click ok and enjoy the rest of the game. (I spent a whole blasted day on trying to get rid of it, and failed)
-> I have tried to iron out the bugs, but this is my first program of this size (1000 friggin' lines), so if they are any bugs, *please* be nice and send me a description of the bug and when it occured. Then just play it again and try not to do what you did to cause the bug.
-> You have to find out your IP. You could try out something like this: http://www.formyip.com/ipcountry.php
If that doesn't work, try
http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/windowsnetworkin1/ht/findaddrwinxp.htm (slightly more work, but still straightforward)
-> After supplying your IP, *WAIT* atleast for 15 seconds. If it doesn't connect, it will say so, with a pop-up. Don't go clicking around in the meanwhile.
-> Coordinate with your friend through a chat client or something. This is pretty much all the work you have to do.
-> One of you becomes the host first, the other the client. You don't have to do nuts.

Ok that's it. You need anything, I'm there. Either mail me, or post something here.

EDIT:
BTW, there is a special surprise awaiting those who ACTUALLY play the game. You don't have to win, or lose, or even finish. You just have to connect and play (surprises are different for winning losing and not finishing).
If no one else does try this (which shall make me sad ), colleen and annie MUST try it out.
And if you don't want to play, and just want to see the surprise, cheat. You can always just open up the game twice, try to connect to yourself and play (and win and lose. Disconnecting causes a 'draw').

Gosh darn! I didn't get that message on my comp. I'll try and find somebody's comp and put it on and check. But till then, hang on to your horsy. I'll try and get a better version up by new years (one that will let you setup your own picture library, if you please). But right now, I'll see if I can fix it.

drat! well, My installer is a bit screwed. the name of the program is 'fluff.exe', as opposed to the 'fluffwho.exe', that is referred to in the shortcut. You can change this by going to the properties of the link (right click -> properties). and changing it there. The uninstall also doesn't work. Foo! Well, I'll fix this and send it to Colleen again, and I'm sorry for the screw-up again (and I'm sorry for having to send colleen the same thing 3 times).

And an important, note, this program works only on WinXP. I made it in Linux, but you require the sources for that. Because I don't have a Mac anywhere near me, I can't make the Mac program either. I'd have to compile the sources on a mac to do that. If anyone here needs a Mac version, I'll try and find somebody on the web who'd compile it for me.

HOWTO find your IP:  Windows XP Method 1.
1) Go to you Network Connections
2) Open your active internet connection. For example: "XYZ Dial-up". I think you'd be able to identify it.
3) In the properties dialog ("This connection uses the following items: ") look for item: Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and double-click it to open the properties
4) If the box: Obtain IP address automatically is checked, well follow method 2.
5) Otherwise, the Use the following IP address is checked, and read the line: IP Address: 123.345.678.910. Note that the digits need not be 3 each, and it can be something like 172.30.129.12 (My IP).
6) Send your friend this IP address through some chat device/phone/telepathy.

METHOD 2:
1) Go to your start menu, and in the accesories, click Command Prompt.
2) type the following command: ipconfig
3) Press enter if you already havent
4) Read the entry IP address
5) Send it your friend.

I've added the info to the read me as well, and provided a shortcut.
I hope it works now.

Yeah, Mac vote here too! My old PC laptop is slowly dying, but seems to run the Fluff game ok... for now!  dun dun DUN!!!

I just remember using a Mac back in 98-99 (dang I missed 97 by a year), when I was in Japan. Those macs were pretty trashy. Then only fond thing I remember was we had these little typing keyboards, in which you could type your document without being connected to the computer (It stored it on board). Then when you plugged it in, ClarisWorks would open up, and all the text would be 'typed' into the document a character at a time, at like 10 characters per second, and we all would pretend to type that fast (I could only type at 10 seconds a character or something back then )
