So who's still out there?

I've been dropping by every now and then, but it's been sadly quiet around here. It only just occured to me that I had the option of starting a thread to counter that...
So I want to hear what people have been up to!

So funny you wrote this today! I haven't even been to my own forum in forever and I came to clean it up a bit. Took off that silly ad, fix the links I broke like six months ago. Just recorded a new radio show and asked people to log-on here to vote on something, so maybe it won't be as dead soon?

That said, are forums dead in general? Does anyone still use them nowadays with twitter and stuff? I miss having real conversations about stuff on here, so maybe we should try and bring it back? Maybe?

As for what I've been doing, I just signed my sixth book contract! It's a super silly mystery series is actually being edited by an old fan of FLUFF. The hamster is basically Furboa, only slightly more sane and drawn by an amazing artist, Stephanie Yue! I'm ridiculously excited!

Here's the fancy "look inside" amazon has for the first book. Ooooh! http://www.amazon.com/reader/0761345981?_encoding=UTF8&go.y=5&ref_=lernerpublish...

I think the biggest shocker I could say on this forum, is I no longer live in Brooklyn. GASP! THOUGH I still live in a windowless place so I have some street cred still. Werd.

How about you! That's a question! I keep getting my punctuation confused?

Right now I'm being pretty insanely jealous about that book. It looks amazing! It's double jealousy too since my girlfriend is trying to break into the children's book market and I'm trying to stay focused enough to do the same.
I've moved as well, to a beautiful, beautiful place called Tasmania - this photo was taken about ten minutes walk from my house:

In other news I'm starting a diploma of IT, starting to collect antiques, "writing" a transhumanist humour blog (which I'm not going to link to until I think it's good enough to share) and planning to start a photocomic (which will hopefully push my blog into the realm of good enough to share even if it has nothing to do with transhumanism).

Wall of text. I'm doing good, sounds like you are too - let's hope the other ghosts are!

PS, I agree that forums have been waning for a while in favour of Facebook and Twitter...but I also think most people are exiting the Twitter honeymoon and hope that forums will pick up steam again over the next few months.

I'm still around here, kindof.  I pop by once a month or so and sigh at the digitumbleweeds.

I'm about three months away from graduating with a BS in chemistry and three minors.  I have little to no idea what I'm doing after that, though.  I'm looking into getting a Master's degree in science journalism.

I have Twitter but not Facebook.  I realized the other day, though, that I don't really talk with anyone on Twitter -- I just read updates passively.  It was a saddening realization.  I'd love to get things going on here again; I could never really get into TaBB.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who misses this place! I am finally going back to school to finish up my degree so I can get all gradumatated and get a real job.

I spend much of my on-line time over at LiveJournal. As for Twitter and Myspace (remember Myspace?), my cat is a member, but I wouldn't touch 'em with a ten-foot pole.
